I think that:

*Adam Dunn, Kyle Lohse, and a minor league prospect should go to the ChiSox for Mark Buehrle, because Buehrle was expected to be traded, and the Reds really need a southpaw pitcher, and Lohse is attractive to teams because of his 93 mph fastball, and Dunn has monster power.

What do you think?

Chicago would never make that trade the already have:
Jim Thome who is like Dunn but better. Going to have to trade Dunn to an American League team that needs a power hitter at DH.

Not a good deal for the Reds! Buehrle is a Free Agent at the end of the season. So basically the Reds are giving up 3 players for someone who'll be gone next season. Not worth it! Dunn should be traded to the Angels for prospects. Lohse to the Yanks or Mets for prospects. Griffey to the Cubs for prospects. These trades will shed payroll and restock the Minor League teams. This frees up money to pursue free agents to fill specific holes for the Reds.

Ok first, Dunn will not go to the ChiSox because they already have 3 players that hit HR's but can't get on base otherwise, they don't want another. In fact, I think that Dunn's 190 K's a year will turn off most teams.

The best deal for them would be to trade Griffey who is having a great year. I could see him going to Atlanta because Atlanta could use another bat and they always have a great deal of young talent. Devine is a top pitching prospect that they might be willing to send to Cincinnati along with Harris, Diaz, or Escobar. Not to mention they have 3 major league ready catchers under the age of 23, the likely option would be Brayan Pena.

The trade you mention would definitely be good for the Reds for the remainder of this year. However, Buehrle can be a free agent at the end of this season and there is no guarantee that he would resign with the Reds. I think a better trade would be Ken Griffey Jr. (because of his age) to the Angels for RHP prospect Nick Adenhart. Griffey has already said he would waive his no trade clause to go to a contender. Adenhart is the number one pitcher in the Angels system and was 15-4 last year with a 2.56 ERA, 8.2 strikeouts per game and has a 94-96 MPH fastball. This would truly be a good deal for Cincinnati.

I think that the Reds should get rid of Dunn, because he strikes out way too much, his defense is a liability, and his trade value could not be any higher right now. He is not needed in the OF because they have Griffey, Hamilton, Hopper, and Freel (when he returns from the DL). Their pitching is horrific, especially in the 8th inning, so any addition to that bullpen would be great. But, they are the Reds, and we don't like to make good decisions or spend money, so expect Dunn to stay put.

Trade Griffey while he still has value. You should be able to get a major league ready prospect for him if you go ahead and make a deal. They need to cut Dunn loose. I like that deal you are talking about. I have never been a fan of all or nothing power hitters. Dunn reminds me of a little better Richie Sexson. Get the best deal you can while he is still valuable.

because of the fact the Angels ought to apply yet another huge stick interior the lineup and that they have got a wealth of commencing pitching interior the minor leagues, they could commerce authentic RHP prospect Nick Adenhart for Dunn. Adenhart throws a ninety 4 MPH fastball and a great curve. He became 15-4, 2.fifty six era and eight.2 strikeouts in keeping with recreation final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. Dunn ought to upload skill to an already powerful lineup.

If you get rid of Adam Dunn, the team loses mast of its power (except for Griffey). I agree that they really need pitching but i would try to hang on to Adam Dunn.

I think you're overrating Buehrle's value. Plus, both the Reds and the White Sox are doing really bad this season and won't make the playoffs. Usually in this scenario, a weak team would trade talent to a strong team for prospects to develop next year. Neither Cin or Chi are strong in any respect this season.
