With the option you gave, I have to say Dwight Howard. He has unbelievable leaps and is powerful enough to play inside. However he needs to shoot better at the line! I would prefer him playing PF than C.
Ben is getting old and can only play D (though he is one of the best defenders in the league). He cannot shoot at all including the line.
Z is good in terms of shooting and can play a little in D but he is too slow and getting old just like Ben.
I will put Yao or Stoudamire up there as both are great playing center.

You mentioned Wallace & Ilgauskas yet you omitted SHAQ & YAO the best centers in the NBA.
Out of the 3 you mentioned, only Dwight Howard has the potential to even be a great player when his career ends.
Ben Wallace & Ilgauskas are just 2 players who have seen their better years behind them.

Among these 3 guys, I'd go for Ben Wallace. He may not be the best among them offensive-wise but he's certainly the most effective at the slot. He's strong and athletic, and despite being short (he's only about 6'7 without the 'fro), a top-notch rebounder and shotblocker. He's definitely an old-school center in the mold of a Bill Russell who focuses on clearing the boards and defending the paint.

Well if we have to choose from the three you mention then I would go with Dwight Howard. But overall Shaq and Yao are both monsters.

Why the hell is Big z in there....hes nowhere near top 10 in the league...........out of the 4 dwight is the best
