Ok, I'm a bit fanatical so please bear with me... However, I take excellent care of my clothes....
I like liquid detergent, I fill the washer bin up with water/ measured detergent and then all my clothes and it's better to do 2 small loads than one oversized load the clothes need to spin freely to get clean....
#1 Make sure you have everything you need... Laundry detergent, pretreater (shout/spray and wash etc..) Delicates detergent and fabric softener/dryer sheets... Delicates lingerie bag(s)
#2 I like to sort my clothes- Towels/sheets (hot water) I pretreat and wash those things first
#3 Sort lights/darks/delicates and wash seperately, check the tags of your clothes for specific washing instructions and follow... Cold is pretty safe for clothes...
#4 I wash most things on cold water/rinse permanent press cycle EXCEPT for delicates (bras/underwear) I wash on warm/cold delicates or gentle cycle
# 5 I check everything for stains and pretreat- and turn all my clothes inside out so if something fades it's on the wrong side.. I also turn all my darks/jeans inside out and wash in Woolite
#6 I hang all my delicates to dry bras especially or they will shrink and get tangled/underwear depending on the kind...Cotton underwear I usually dry.
#7 I hang my jeans to dry and my darks on plastic hangers on a rack in my basement-
DO NOT use too much detergent it will leave white marks on your clothes.. I use the dryer to dry blankets, towels, sheets and if I need something right away...
I hope this helps and good luck..

MAKE SURE YOU SEPARATE THE DARKS FROM THE LIGHTS! If you don't , your white underwear will turn pink!
OK, if you have a washing machine, use detergent, your parents should have some around. Use about a quarter of the container for a small amount, a half for a medium, and so on.
Next, put it into the designated spot for it. It's usually pretty obvious.
Press the button(or turn the dial) marked "normal". A light should come on showing an amount of time. Press start.
Why are your parents doing your laundry????

Why bother? Just keep wearing the same stuff until people around you get so repulsed that someone will beg you to let them do some wash for you. It will also save a lot of money on your social life, since nobody will want to be within five feet of you long enough for you to hang out with them.
Sorry... I meant to give a serious answer, but you already have plenty of those by now. Peace, and happy washing.
PS: Most major brands of laundry detergent have simple instructions for this on their carton or bottle, in case you forget something here.

Sweetie it is time you learned! SORT all clothes. Jeans - with jeans
Dark colored- dark clothes or blacks, don't wash anything that will shed lint onto your dark clothes(a new sweatshirt)
Whites-white clothes only fill up washer first add soap and bleach let washer mix the 2 together then add clothes. I soak all my whites over night then I also wash one extra time. The main thing is to sort, pre-treat any stains, always wash in cold water (hot water sets stains into clothes) and never put a stained item in dryer that to will set stain and you will never get it out! Don't over dry and if in doubt don't WASH an expensive item!! Ask Mom or the cleaners for advise.

Separate the clothes into similar colors and materials. For instance we wash dark t-shirts and sweat pants and towels together. Light colored clothing in another pile, jeans are in a pile of their own, delicates also have their own and white clothes in a separate pile as well. Whites are the only thing I wash on hot, all the rest are washed in warm water and each pile gets washed separately. I rarely wash in cold water unless it is a very delicate material that the color would run. Delicate clothes get put on a hanger after a short spin in the dryer.

This will be fairly easy. Take the rock you just crawled out from under down to the local stream or river. Beat the soiled clothes with said rock in the bed of the stream/river. Haul you cleansed clothes home and use the dryer since you have already mastered this high tech challenge. Jeez...you got to be kidding me here!!!

Read your tags on your clothes!!! They tell you how to wash and dry your pieces. All clothes come with wash and dry tags these days. If you are really unsure or have purchased something foreign without tags, wash in cold and dry on low. Otherwise dry clean to be safe. Separate your colors always regardless. And put things on the "hand wash" dial when you are dealing with delicates.

first organize them according to color.
-Whites
-Light colors (these are all your tans, khakis, pinks, corals, pastels, baby blues, etc)
-Bright Colors (this includes red, navy blue, black, dark green...you can put your jeans in this pile too, or wash jeans in their own pile, its up to you.)
Now its time to get the washer ready. Pour the detergent in FIRST, don't wait till the end and pour it over clothes. If you pour it in the bottom and load the washer correctly, the detergent will evenly distribute throughout the water. Put your clothes in the washer. DO NOT OVER LOAD. If you find yourself having to pack and force items of clothing in, then you have added too much and will need to remove some things. Now it is time to turn on the water. Different water temperatures are used for different clothes....
Whites-Hot or Warm (and you will need to add bleach or oxy-clean once the water fills up)
Light Colors-Warm
Bright Colors-Cold
go ahead and turn the water on, close lid, and wait for them to wash.
If you want to add liquid fabric softener, wait until you hear the washer filling up for the rinse cycle, and THEN add the fabric softener. Only use the amount directed. Too much can stain and leave spots and a grimy residue on clothing.
Other reminders:
Always make sure that you have sorted your clothing correctly. One red sock can ruin an entire load of white clothing.
Wash heavily soiled items in a different load. My stepdad used to work on cars and I washed his filthy oily jeans with a work shirt of mine and my shirt came out dotted with little spots of motor oil all over it.

you know seperating the color of clothing and stuff. but you really need to ask your mom's help with the basic knowlege about her washer and dryer and the soap she uses. everyone does a little different spin on things and their clothing comes out clean. but you mom might be alot like me and know a better way to do things with her machine her detergent and her money for the water bill. ask her, she'll like it that you want to help out and will help you out.

keep darks with darks and whites with whites, I usually use 1 and a half caps of soap for a large load now if you have a small load make sure you put the machine on small load and use 1 cap full!
