The other day lightening struck and my car was parked over the satellite cable. (which took out the satellite cable) I thought no more of it until I started my car up 2 days later and the radio did not work and the gauges jumped... the next time I started it,,,it was fine ...the next time it was the same thing. Now all seems fine. Should I get this checked out or will / has it resolved it's self?

How can you park over a satellite cable? File a claim with your insurance company as lightning would be covered by your comprehensive coverage if the car needs repairs.

yes, get it checked out asap. think of it this way, it's not only messing your gauges and radio up, it's messing everything that is run by a computer in your car. That's more than just your radio... that's almost half of your engine. It could become dangerous. Like above me, have them run a computer diagnostics on your car and let your insurance company know.

I'd report this to your insurance company. It would be covered by your comprehensive coverage. If you let it slide they will forget you were involved by a stray bolt of electricity. Who knows what systems may have been effected. Chevrolet could ferret out the problem.

A comprehensive claim would not affect your insurance rates.
