My cougar also has body damage to it after feb 25 when I hit Ice in addition it now need a transmission Just guessing the cost for trans and body work be about 4,000 to me With the car undriveable and myself not having much money for repairs whic I feel may lead to more would I get anything as atrade in on this car even if I had the car towed as is to a dealer to buy something else ? The dealer may give you $500 for it. Maybe. I would recommend listing it for parts, possibly on ebay even. If the motor is good, and most of the body parts are good, you will get way more than $500 bucks in the long run.

Not much. The cars value is the book value less repairs. In short, less than 500 bucks.
No dealer wants a car that doesn't run, despite the "push pull or tow" BS. That's pure hype.

you wont get much for it, but watch a few dealers advertised specials. Some say if you drive it , tow it, or push it into the dealership they will make you an unbelievable offer. Sometimes as much as 2000 over book for any shape car. I know these are all come ons, but what do you have to lose? Visit a few dealers and plea your case. you never know these days what they will do for a sale.
