I use straight vinegar to clean everything, from the bathroom to the kitchen to the wood floors to the windows! It not only cuts through grime, it eliminates odors, is not abrasive, and is cheap!

The very best thing I have found, like you, is the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It's only downfall is that it can't be used on stainless steel fixtures. I recently began using Easy Off BAM and it works fabulously on stainless steel that has soap scum and hard water deposits.
I also use the squeegee after every shower, but it never seems to get it all, and of course it is difficult to squeegee a shower head & faucet, handles, etc.
;)

A toothbrush and soap when it gets really bad, but of coarse that takes alot of time. They also have that bleach pen thing that you can use between the cracks if you have a tile shower. But if you decide to do the toothbrush thing and work that hard at it, I'd make sure to keep it very clean in the future, I'd be wiping it down like everyday. LOL

Try a moistened dryer sheet to clean soap scum. Or baby oil on a washcloth. Or spray with laundry pre-wash spray, wait and then wipe clean.

The easiest way to keep your glass shower door clean is to squeegee it after every shower. Then the products you use, whatever they are, are easier to use and keep the doors clean. I use CLR and BAM followed by Windex and have clear doors. Squeegee!! Even my guests know they have to do this in their bathrooms.

the works. it's a pretty harsh cleaner but it works when it's used properly, meaning let it sit on the scum for a minute or 2 and then scrub with a white scotch brite
