is barbar a real elephant?

my mom told me that he was just a cartoon. i don't know who to believe (the tv or my mom).

Babar is real in the imaginations of lots and lots of people, but only as a character in story and picture books (and I guess TV). Still, that makes him and his family and friends pretty real!

Believe your mom. Babar (Learn to Spell) is not a real elephant.
