I would be careful about the scrubbing advice given above, as mounts can be very easily damaged, particularly in good quality handmade setting.

I use Hagerty jewellery cleaner, a British product. Just place you ring in its appropriate tray and soak it onernight in the solution, then rinse and buff gently to dry. Beautiful results every time.

Soak in sudsy ammonia, brush lightly using a soft nylon brush, and rub with a flannel cloth to bring out the shine. If the soaking in sudsy ammonia does not clean the dirt in the gap between the ring and the main diamond, try threading some dental floss through the area and *gently* work it back and forth until the dirt is gone.

The best way to clean jewelry and gold is using bletch and vibration. Put ring in to one glass and fill it by bletch till top of the ring then if you have electronic teeth brash turn on and put that in glass unless all germs gone .Using brash in gold will make damage in polishing.

I clean my gold jewerly, by soaking it in dish soap, and then take a soft tooth brush and scrub the area,s needed. Then rinse well with warm/hot water.

scrub it with toothpaste, if that doesnt work theres this liquid that you can probably buy in wallgreens or somewhere like that, what you do is you put the jewelery in the little cup thing and shake it.
