LOL

I love the myth that we're the best healthcare in the world....that's why 50 million are uninsured and most bankruptcies are from medical disastors..

by the way universal healthcare will happen, sooner or later

I believe abortion is a real issue and a very important one. I'm sure that in th 60's many thought civil rights wasn't a real issue either.

It seems to me that issues such as Abortion vs. Choice, Gay Marriage, Prayer in School, Public vs. Private Schools, etc. seem easy to understand because there is so much coverage of them. They are as complex as any other issues facing us today, yet they get the Air Time. Therefore we each have an opinion and feel informed about them.

I find these issues to be divisive. They also do not impact the quality of life for the Majority of people. Honestly folks, how could letting Gay people have the same protections benefits and obligations under the Law as Straights hurt anyone? How does a woman you don't know and will never meet choosing to have an abortion affect you? Get real people!

I think Politicians are using these issues as Red Herrings. They have successfully divided the country into opposing factions fighting over issues that matter much less than the ones the Politicians don't want to address. Just to be clear, I think the Democrats are just as guilty in this as the Republicans. It just makes their job easier. Instead of having to actually Lead the country as Statesmen (including the women) in answering the tough questions; they avoid the responsibilities we elected them to fill.

Wedge issues are what those behind the scenes use to keep us divided.......Do you think the extremely wealthy and big business really give a **** about abortion or gay marriage? No, they just use emotional issues to keep us ignorant to what is really going on.

Well, it's mostly because those "issues" are pretty easy to comprehend and get involved in. Therefore, the ease of understanding allows it greater attention.

Healthcare is a pretty complicated subject, and it's easy to be bewildered by it. However, it doesn't mean that it should take a back seat.

Probably because they can't back up their arguments for the real issues, but for aobortion and gay marriage they can always argue with the Bible.

It isn't the American people who care about this crap, it's the politicians, the Vatican & other faith-based institutions, and Big Business who keep it on the front burner to cover up more important issues like poverty, lack of universal healthcare, condition of the environment, etc etc

They are the button issues for the Right. It keeps us from talking about what is really important. You can add other useless things like flag burning and gun control.

The only "non issue" you mentioned is gay marriage. I have no problem with them having a civil union. Gays are not dying due to the fact that they cannot get married. We are slaughtering babies, and it is not at all ignorant to protect them. I agree health care is important but not universal health care thanks.

so we are ignorant to care for what we do...maybe you are ignorant for caring for your life...maybe some Americans try to have morals...our health care is the best health care in the world...why do you think people from OTHER nations come here for treatment and other things...only fools like you think health care is in trouble...my guess is you never saved money, never planned for the future and are scared if you get sick because you didn't take prudent actions to protect yourself....

This is a major reason that people have had it with both parties, especially the Republican Party.
