Yes they are lucky, each one you see will bring you £500, so all you have to do is sit and wait for your 2 grand...I saw one a couple of weeks ago, can't wait....

money spiders are only supposed to attract money to your hands if you touch them without killing them.
Thus seeing them wouldn't be lucky.
And if i remember correctly touching more than one in one sighting/sitting is bad luck cos they counteract each other.
i.e. be content with just one blessing and dont be greedy, cos grreed makes bad things happen.
I think the story behind them being lucky is that if the bug has been lucky enough not to be crushed by your finger then it is likely that there is a lot of luck around

Most superstitions are 'made up' but real to the people who made them up. Money spiders perhaps they like crevasses, the kind that might be created by wallpaper which when it came out only the rich had. - Servants might see these spiders in their masters' houses and would pass on the idea they would give you money. Or maybe not.

Wouldn't say money spiders lucky, or any other, if they come into my house, my cats eat them! However its just a made up superstition, originating sometime in the 19th century.

Yes we are as it is the last burst of warmth before winter and all things are trying to store up food to last through till the return of spring. And some of the smaller ones are trying to find warm places to winter over either in hibernation or hiding in unused spots that have enough warmth for them to stay in and not be disturbed. Their are some superstitions attached with spiders . Use your search engine to find them. there are both good and bad myths about them as there are with most everything else. just like bats have good and bad myths attached to them . both help to keep down the more dangerous pests.that are also running around. All you have do is find out how to recognize the non poisonous ones from the poisonous ones just like snakes.

If they are lucky someone will come to your door inside the next 5 minutes (now 1:15am) and will tell you, you have just won £30m. If they are not lucky then no one will turn up.

There is some sense in the belief. People who allow small creatures to exist are of a more philosophical and caring nature. Such people will find life less stressful and more rewarding, which aids success in their endeavors.
