There's an even stickier question hiding here: What, exactly, IS porn? Keep in mind that the courts of many nations have been struggling with a good defintion for CENTURIES.
If porn is just what little children shouldn't see, then that probably includes just about every sex education textbook in existance and many, many medical works.
If porn is just what someone finds arousing, then there's copious examples that a typical pair of underwear or socks is porn. It could even be argued that some PEOPLE are porn, regardless of what they happen to be wearing at the time. (Don't make me refer you to the Hello Kitty fetish newsgroup)
If porn is just depicting naked people, then Anne Gedde's touching pictures of naked babies are actually child pornography. And most classical art as well. And perhaps x-rays and any photograph of any animal ever. But strangely hardcore sex filmed with fully clothed actors is just fine.
Given that most people can't even figure out exactly what porn IS, it seems kind of strange to me to try and regulate it. You will only end up crushing socially valuable works in some kind of moralistic attempt to protect 'innocents' from things they aren't likely to understand in the first place.
No, I don't generally want giant TVs broadcasting porn on street corners. But even if there are, I can always turn my head and walk away. Or I can change my plans and stay to watch. Whichever I'm inclined to do at the time.
Whether or not any particular person thinks it's bad, it is quite obviously popular among humanity in general. People happily film and distribute it at their own expense. And always have.
Peace.

Like most subjects, I don't think that there is a black or white answer on this topic. But, for the sake of brevity -- I'd say Live and Let Live. As long as those who are involved are ok with it... and as long as the person viewing it is doing so of their own free will.... then I am ok with it.
Someone else here mentioned that it depends on what you consider "porn". I agree that that is a fundamental question. Overall -- I am against censorship - so if I don't like/agree with something, I just don't watch/listen/involve myself.
And ... for the record.... I don't have any problem watching beautiful people having fun.

What people watch, enact or eh...sing along to, in the privacy of your own home , between two (or sometimes more) adults is strictly their business and should not be judged by others. It wouldn't be such an incredibly big industry if millions of us were not so happy with the product the Industry produces.

Don't worry - i understand what you mean, even if others don't.
my opinion.....the internet has become pandora's box & the hydra of society.......now that it is freely available in all it's forms. there is no turning back.
what should be done though, is make the ISP's more responsible and punish them for allowing the content on the internet.
soft porn i'm not worried about - there has always been a desire for men to see ladies naked and for women to read pornographic material in books.
then you need to ask where do you stop & where does censorship begin....
it's very dangerous on the internet......with chat rooms and all sorts even YA) - you don't know who you could be talking to.....

there's a great axiom in psychology: "Correlation does not equivalent causation". you need to easily as definitely say that each and all and sundry serial killers slept in beds, subsequently, snoozing in beds could make one a serial killer. human beings have been watching porn, no longer in basic terms men yet women folk besides, for as lengthy as heritage has been written. In historic greece, porn became watched stay and customarily led to orgies. you will discover a parallel interior the Romans and interior the classic Celts, which had an entire holiday (Beltaine) dedicated to intercourse and fertility. in certainty, intercourse became no longer deemed as taboo till the darkish a protracted time. Our society sees porn as damaging by way of stigma that our society has placed on intercourse. yet intercourse, or porn, itself isn't inherently undesirable outdoors of our sociolical attitudes. I beleive the abundance of porn in our society is without delay by way of our strict derision of intercourse and repression of innate urges.

How nice. Pornography is the degredation of human beings. My attitude is one of disgust. There is nothing nice or noble in degredation. Porn is a hurtful, hateful part of human nature. Time to get rid of it. When you say I don't judge, You have never been touched by it or you just don't give a damn about other people. Shame on you.
