Take a normal candle and light one end that is a Mitsubushi Lancer and Subaru Impreza. Put turbochargers inter coolers and water sprayers on those cars light the other end of the candle. EVO 9 and WRX sti. Now they will last half as long. Plus get a surprize when you try to insure them. Ask your self do I really want a pocket sized racing car for the street? Do I want to loose my drivers licence for showing off for my friends? Do I want the cobb exhaust, performance Y pipe and larger turbos so I can loose the factory warranty? Do I have a guy at the tire store that can sell me $250 each tires for less?

As far as performance goes, they are nearly identical.
However.... Subaru has a long history of producing insanely reliable cars..... Mitsubishi has anything but.
And Cookie? Hybrids are HORRIBLE for the environment. Do your homework.

In my opinion, mitsubishi Evo would get my vote! Its the ultimate rally car and well worth it!

damn dude we are on the same wave lengh here,
i have been wondering the same Q for a while
the scooby has a bhp of around 260 plus is 4x4...
the evo has a bhp of around 320.2 wheel drive (i think)
looks and colour id say the scooby but power gotta be evo.
hmmm tough choice....i think scooby

I don't consider Mitsubishi's to be good cars. Even if they were I wouldn't buy one. During WWII Mitsubishi used American POW's as slave laborers, starved them and when they couldn't work anymore decapitated them. They have never compensated the survivors nor have they ever apologized. I wouldn't buy one of their cars if they were the last ones on the face of the earth. I'd walk or ride a bicycle first.

evo is better subaru is ok but costly to run.

Generally speaking of course, however there will be exceptions to both.
