We all seem to be intimately connected (in every way imaginable) to each other and everything else in the universe, so are we literally all the same thing that has been subdividing and re-combining since the beginning.

I mean literally the same. I know we are all part of the universe like cells in a person's body, but I wonder if we are all exactly the same thing from a Physics point of view even though it might seem to be a Metaphysical question.

I think what you are crudely saying is that the universe is a closed system, and that is probably true. We don't know enough to say that for sure.

No, but we're all made out of the same stuff. The same elements, that is. Only hydrogen was around after the big bang, the rest came from massive stars.

Yes, of course we all are. Determining the stuff of reality is the whole point of physics, which is the king of sciences (all other sciences are based on the laws of physics, which are continuously applied throughout the universe and which hav eNO exceptions whatsoever).
