The truth. If there is one place you don't want to get caught in a lie, it is in a court of law. Telling the judge that your simply not in love in more that you have differences that cannot be fixed. Do not bring up excuses that blame your partner for the divorce - this will only show the judge that you are out for revenge, and revenge is loosing game in court.

If you had an affair or if your partner had one, do not bring it up. The fact that an affair happened is not the reason for a divorce, it is the reason you had the affair that are leading to a divorce.

If your located in the US, most divorce courts don't require a "good" cause (and won't even entertain hearing all about whatever awful behavior your partner is guilty of)--incompatibility and irreconcilable differences are the standards. Now if your trying to get sole custody of children, whatever "good cause" you come up with, you will need a ton of evidence to substantiate your allegations.

like most people said, the truth. why do you think you need a "strong cause"? do you think the divorce courts will say to you, "oh you have to stay married because you don't have a really good reason"? because they won't. you just file and if uncontested, you are granted a divorce.

Tell the truth. Don't lie. It's a felony.
Most states have no-fault divorces, so you don't need a "motive". Just irreconcilable differences.

The truth, whatever it is, pretty or ugly. I assumed that if the truth were pretty though, you wouldn't be getting a divorce. I no longer recognized the man I was living with as the one I married. That's it for me. I will not even elaborate further than that to anyone except to God.

Tell us what your "motive" is and then we can tell you if its a good motive for divorce. If you screwed around and you want to lie about it....or if your partner did. What's the whole story you don't want to tell us?

That she was witnessed beating my 7 year old with her two fists.
That she was witnessed trying to engage the family dog in something very VERY nasty...
That she wanted to run off to Utah so she could sleep with the other wives in one of those Polygamous communities.
That she wanders the park late at night talking to the trees and insects.
That she threatened to stab me in the chest with a knife while I slept.
That she didn't think anything Karla Homolka did was wrong.

The truth is a good start. Marriage is something that shouldn't be just thrown out. Unfortunately it is way to easy and way to often. Judges most often here irreconcilable differences.

Why don't you just print out what you've just written on this forum, and show it to the judge. I'm sure they'll side with your partner and you will get your divorce!
Good luck!
