You can "key it" just scratch the heck out of it in every direction it will cause the laser to reflect off and be unreadable. Much like these devices do.

Turn off the lights and put it into a microwave for about 3 seconds. It will not only destroy the CD, you'll see a nice glowing show, too.

If it's a CD-R, your only choice is to break it.
If it's a CD-RW, under Windows -> My Computer, I'm pretty sure you can right click on the cd drive icon and choose erase disk.

Break it in half then burn it, lol. From what I know most CD's aren't re-writeable so just break the thing into a few pieces and make sure they're irreparable.

Put it in the microwave for a couple seconds. This will leave it toatlly useless and un recoverable
