I answered a question once to the effect of:
Why can't I send an e-mail? When I try, I'm asked to type those weird letters in the little box.
My answer went something like:
Those are really annoying. They're supposed to prevent spamming, but I don't see how. But, I just play along when I get them & my e-mail is sent.
The notice said, "Not a question or answer." Excuse me? I think somebody at Yahoo just didn't like my criticism. But, I fought it & after a few days, they reversed it & restored my points.
That was quite a while back & I couldn't find the actual question.

Point of correction, Mr. Attorney.
It is not the Answers staff that lacks an understanding about sarcasm, but rather someone in the Yahoo!Answers community.
Someone, for whatever reason, reported your answer. Yes, it is a lame violation and if you try the Appeal process, they will say that your answer was "not an answer".
But, hey. Join the crowd. I got a mailbox folder full of "lame violations" against me. The silly one was when I asked if anyone had ever tried Fat Witch Brownies (from New York). I lost over 15 points on that one.

Yeh that's lame. Obviously the Yahoo Moderators don't actually investigate abuse reports, i mean why would they? that's only their job, which they get paid to do. Why would they bother checking if a report was legitimate or just submitted by a troll.

The violation notice for speaking German. I'm convinced they thought I was saying something dirty, and didn't bother to translate. Otherwise, it makes no sense.
