pontiacs are great cars,i had a 96 sunfire over 160,000.never had one thing go wrong with it,but thats just me.not sure on the answer ur looking for...just take care of it and it will take care of you.

I had a 2001 sunfire with the 2.4 liter. Yeah, i was hard on it, but i finished off 2 engines in a short while.The crankshaft and timing chain are faulty i was told later by our mechanic. Ive heard that the 2.2 liter lasts forever, and even my older brother couldnt kill his (eventually my mom MADE him sell it) so ya thats all i have to say....Dont get the 2.4 liter!

As long as you faithfully service it and look after all the things that will wear or need replacement throughout its life, it will run indefinitely as these are pretty bulletproof as far as cars go. Good luck.

last until.......they quit? pontiacs will last a very long tome well over 100,000 miles.
