My air conditioning went out in my apartment and it has been broken for 2 weeks. They have come twice to fix it and haven't been able to do so yet. It has been over 85 degrees in my place the whole time and it sucks. Am I to get compensated for my having to put up with this?

Sorry about the heat but as long as they are making reasonable attempts to repair the problems they are meeting their requirement of habitability.

Talk with the manager to determine if you can be moved to another unit until the airconditioning is completely repaired.

Good luck.

I doubt you can recover cash. You can probably require them to supply a fan or window air conditioner until it is fixed. Laws vary from state to state and sometimes by city. Without knowing where you live, I can't even try to look up the rules.
