No...they are two separate parties with separate agendas each with about 40% of the population on their side and both fighting for the about 15% of the pop. that doesn't know what the heck is going on/what the heck they want....

(the other 5% makes up the "taxpayer party" or the "green party" support base...just had to make the math add up...)

No... actually each is pandering to totally different constituencies. However sometime their separate greed comes together to screw *everyone*... example the Amnesty Bill before Congress now. The NAFTA Super Highway also falls into that category... And together they will end up with MexAmerCan (aka the North American Union)

Is like saying Gambino & Genovese, or Bonanno and Colombo. It makes no difference who you vote for -- the two parties are really one party representing 4 percent of the people.

In a nutshell: you want big government taking over your life and to make all of your decisions for you? Vote liberal.
If you want more freedom to live your life without government interference, vote conservative. Read more on these subjects, many factual and many books of fiction reveal all to well the consequences of wrong thinking. Do you remember, for instance, George Orwell's 1984? If you haven't read it, I suggest you might want to look into reading it. It really shows the consequences of big government in control.
