MVP- Alex Rodriguez
Cy Young- Dan Haren

MVP- There are 3 important statistics you need to win MVP. HR, RBI, and BA. A-Rod has all 3. He is the AL leader in HR and RBI, and he keeps a high BA over .300.

Cy Young- Again 3 important things you need. Wins, ERA, SO. The most important is wins, Haren gets a decent number of wins, but I'm assuming he will get more run support by the end of the season. He should finish with around 20 wins. His ERA is great. It's been well below 2 all season, and usually you only expect it to be under 3 at best. If he can keep that up, he will be the for sure winner. The last stat is strikeouts, this is usually the "tir-breaker" stat. Usually only looked upon when there are 2 almost equal playersr. He gets enough to get by, but I don't think you can look past his ERA.

Some other contenders.

MVP- Guerrero, Ordonez
Cy Young- Josh Beckett, C.C. Sabathia, John Lackey, Jeremy Bonderman, Justin Verlander

AL MVP: I give it to A-Rod right now, even though I don't like him as a player. He leads the majors in RBI's and HR's at this point and is hitting for a respectable average.

AL Cy Young: Dan Haren has been phenomenal. Justin Verlander is also a contender. I think it will probably come down to these two in the end. Both have a ton of wins, low ERA's, and a decent number of K's.

AL MVP - Magglio Ordonez for his high batting average and the fact that he might break the all-time record in doubles.

AL Cy Young - Dan Haren. A 1.80 ERA or whatever he has is Cy-Young worthy any time it happens. If he keeps up this pace it's his.

Other MVP contenders - A-Rod, Vlad Guerrero
Other Cy Young contenders - Johan Santana, John Lackey, Justin Verlander

I say the AL MVP is Alex Rodriguez. He's having a career year. The AL Cy Young may go to Dan Haren. He's pitching has been superb, but I can't see him keeping that up. I think Josh Beckett will win given he doesn't go on the DL.

AL MVP probably A-Rod so far even though I hate him as much as a person can hate someone. He has been having an amazing season and already has 28 homers with 77 rbi and the season isn't even half way over. so he could end up with over 60 homers and around 180 rbi if he keeps this up.

AL Cy young so far I say Josh Beckett or C.C. Sabathia. They both are having phenomenal season and have almost flawless records with Beckett being 11-1 and Sabathia 11-2

This time Derek Jeter has a great shot at mvp. There is absolutely no one as consistent as him on offense. Though he will have to make less mistakes on defense in the second half. As for pitching, if he keeps going the way he is,Josh Beckett. Remember, he was out on the dl and he is 11 and 1. If he never got hurt he could be even better. This is just my opinion. Every week there are hot players and players that are doing poorly. Were talking consistently performing above the rest.

MVP: A Rod.

CY YOUNG: Beckett. He's probably going to end the season leading every pitching stat.

AL MVP: Magglio Ordonez. He tops the majors or is near the top in almost every offensive category, and he's playing on the best team.
Cy Young: Justin Verlander or Dan Haren
