Well, your question might have been a bit more specific. I have a Sanyo 128K single floppy-drive computer that I still use several times a month, for two very specific purposes. I don't consider it to be "out of date". I also have some very nice antique furniture that I enjoy owning and using. People collect antiques of all kinds. The out-of-date criteria is specific for the item.

Furniture: usually 100 years.
Cars: 20 years.
Computers: 6 months.
Buildings: anywhere from 100 to 1,000 years, or more.
Books: when no longer in print.
Money: when it won't be accepted by a vending machine.

I hope this helps a bit.

Some things never go out of style or get old. I hope you aren't asking about milk or eggs, but if in doubt, waft a bit towards your nose as a sniff test.:D

I've had some clothes for years, some pens for two days, some friends forever. Depends on what it is you're asking about.

That depends on what it is.... FOOD? Clothing? furniture? Electronic equipment (including computers)?, Drugs? (prescription of course) all have varying degrees of expiration when they become out of date.....Foods USUALLY have a date stamped on them when they should no longer be served..(usually one-three weeks depending on the food item,. as do prescription drug vials., as does over the counter medications...(usually a year) Clothing is out of date when styles change... for example mini skirts were IN in the 60's, OUT in the 70's and back in now it's the 2000s. Shows that SOME things that are out of date DO have a tendency to come back again........Electronic equipment and computer equipment is out of date as soon as newer, better equipment gets on the market...SOMETIMES all it takes is MONTHS for that to happen... so, you see, everything that goes OUT OF DATE goes out of date at different times for different reasons.

Things are out of date much quicker than you think, it actually goes in seconds.

The moment you create something it is already obsolete.

It depends on the object.

Computers are usually outdated by the time they are two years old.
