Yes, if you want more mediocre baseball, more watered-down teams, in the name of "competitive balance". A salary cap doesn't move every team up to .600 caliber; it pulls everyone toward .500.
No thanks. When I go to a ballgame, I'm there to see the players play, not watch the owner own. If he wants profits -- and in MLB, it's like owning the minting press -- he should earn them, not have them handed over by a salary cap constratint. The ballplayers are the product, and I have no issue with them getting a lot of the money baseball takes in.
Worth noting that no team has gone bankrupt recently.
Expansion obviously has diluted the pool of smart general managers and competent scouting directors.

Noway. That would be a major injustice to the fans who show up and actually watch games and buy team stuff. Baseball is built so that the fans are responsible for getting their players good and paid.
Last season the Red Sox finished third. We still packed Fenway. Now we have the best team in the league. The Yankees are having a terrible season. But their fans show up and the players get paid.
Salary cap would equal great players playing in front of empty seats in Florida or Arizona. Cardinals, Mets, Sox and Yankees fans would all show up and continue to pay good money, but have nothing to show for our relentless support.
Reds too, guys. Oh... and the Braves.

No because the league is competitive and perfect the way it is. Look at the Oakland A's, they continue to be competive year after year, yet have a low payroll and low attendance. The Yankees have one of the highest payrolls and high attendance figures. And they continue to fall short of winning the World Series.

Absolutely. The NFL proves that caps work. The GM would then be the most critical hire in the organization which it was in the old days when the small market teams were making the playoffs too.

I'm a Yankee fan and I say yes. It really is getting out of hand. People in other cities will lose interest in the game because their team sucks every year. The Clemens signing I really hated.

YOU CAN'T with guaranteed contracts. Plus it would hurt trading and contract negotiations. They would have to change many other things not just simply change the league to a salary cap.
