As a fan of the Steelers and Big Ben I am going to give him another chance. This year he will be calling his own plays and will show his real strengths and weaknesses. I am not someone to bash people because of one bad season. But when you have consistant bad seasons that is another story. He showed a come back last year throwing a 200 game or 2 but that concussion on the field made him start over again. Fast Willy stated the other day on Pittsburgh TV that he can not believe the changes in Big Ben so far this year including his health and maturity. I say we give him another try or at least to the people who are fans and not bashing him just because he isn't thier teams QB. ( and I don't mean to the writer of the ?)

You know I'll admit I liked him a lot when he first came to the NFL. Then again I've also always known that he was a product of a very good team. Big Ben has had his moments of greatness and at the same time has pretty much canceled all of those out with some really stupid mistakes both on and off the field. I will still say the scramble/bomb to Hines Ward in the Super Bowl was still a great play, BUT we also all know he NEVER crossed the goal line on that quarterback sneak. Ben Roethlisberger is definitely not towards the top nor is he towards the bottom, I'm gonna have to say just because of his RECORD he is somewhere in between. Though now that his team is losing a lot of key components I believe we're going to start to see what kind of quarterback Ben really is, and I don't think his future is looking too bright as of rightnow.

Ben's the man in Da Burgh! No, he's not the big play, air it out type QB, but he is a proven winner, not a whiner like Palmer & Brady & Manning. People say he has a great running game & defense to win games for him. Some people are also full of s*h*i*t. Ben uses his assets just like Palmer uses Johnson & Brady uses his WR's & defense etc. Since when does it make a guy a poor QB to use all the weapons available to him? I'll take Ben & all our Steelers & stack them against any team when all the marbles are on the line.
PS How come the Bungals didn't "win it all" last season ? They had Palmer all season, didn't they? Funny how they can't beat the Steelers when it really counts.

Yeah, I think he's already had too many concussions (he has had a lot more than just one concussion in the last year), and I don't think he can think straight anymore. It's sad, but it looks to me like his best years are already behind him. There is definitely a chance he'll rebound this year, but if he doesn't, the Steelers would be smart to acquire a new starting quarterback next offseason.

Last season, I think he was one of the 5 worst starting QBs in the league, but in the years previous to that, I think he was one of the 10 best.

I think you have to look at more than just stats. Ben is a winner, and I would have to rank him as one of the better QBs out there. If you will remember, there was another steeler QB that did not have great stats, but he won 4 superbowls and is a hall of famer, Bradshaw.

He's an average NFL QB, maybe slightly above. His 15-1 season he was surrounded by a solid running game and play makers at WR, Ds adjusted as they will, and their own D did not play as well last year as the year before.

No better than top 15. regardless of first 2 years. When you splatter your head, being an idiot(even though he was hit, did he really NEED to be on a motorcycle), you rattle a few marbles up there. Not to mention Cowher is gone now. I think the concussions will also become more prominent for him because of the cycle accident.

To say he's overrated is an understatement. He won a Super Bowl...and so did Trent Dilfer. Big Ben is not a stats guy at all, and probably never will be. But, I'll give him this: He does seem to fit his team, and he'll play better this year than he did last year.

He was never that good. He can't carry an offense, he can only manage one. He is in the upper 20's as far as starting QB's go. He was never near the top 10
