Fans finally came to realize he deserves to be on the team. I am sure loyal Detroit fans had something to do with it as well.

It's because people saw him on ESPN. It's obvious that he deserves to go and should have the most votes by far, despite the fact that he's a complete jerk in real life. Once he made that catch in the Verlander no hitter, which in my opinion was almost routine, ESPNs been all over his nuts. ESPN has the popular vote because they pull the strings on all the fairweather fans. I just wish they would use their powers for good. Like the fact that the guy who should be the starting catcher in the AL, Victor Martinez, is 5th in voting. Posada deserves to go too, but he shouldn't be starting. Jeter and Orlando Cabrera have almost identical numbers, but OC has 7 less errors. It's all cause of ESPN that he won't start.

It must of been that the ballot boxes from Detroit were counted during that week. That coupled with a few other stadiums closing and the on-line totals were enough to push into one of the starting spots.
