Ideally, I am looking for a town or village-type resort, with pool, activities, food, and room all in the same area. (Not just a hotel.) It must be on the beach and it must be in Florida. Something near central Florida is prefered because we will be visiting my grandmother, who lives close Ocala, Florida immediatly before taking this beach vacation. It would be great to find a more adult location, without too many screaming kids running around. In the past I have loved staying at Sandals and Club Med!

I am looking for detailed advice with names of specific resorts that you or someone you know has stayed at. Every web site says their hotel is the best, so I need an unbiased opinion!

I have family in Ocala as well! Try this Hotel. It might be what you are expecting. It has a bar & grille and it is right on the beach. Very good location. Good Luck!

I would suggest using the website www.vrbo.com if you are willing to compromise a little on the resort part of your vacation. my husband and i rented a cute beach house/condo in Cocoa Beach on the east coast for a week and it was only around $400. If you want to stay on the west coast there are plenty of different owners to rent from and i've found so far they are much easier to deal with than hotels. (price wise especially). And you have all the privacy you could wish for.I would also suggest staying at any of the Disney resorts in Orlando. They have SO much to do and the general Orlando area I love staying in. Theres never a dull minute. Hope this helps!

There are so many variables here. It's not cheap, but you can economize. I would go to their website, and see all the options they offer and make a decision together on what you want to do while you are there. Many of the things you state as obvious, might not be what someone else looks forward to on a honeymoon. This is personal for you and your intended. Talk to the experts who run the park. Wishing you a happy honeymoon.
