My soon to be ex phoned me last night to inform me that he wants to serve me with divorce papers. Is this it or will I need to sign anything else to make this marrage end? I am in Alberta Canada if it matters any.

I don't want him back, I just want to get this all done and over with. Should be simple..no kids, no property, and no one looking for any form of support.

FYI !!!!!!! Read the fine print. You could lose everything if you don't. Get a lawyer to help you understand the papers.

If the papers are something you can agree to then you can probably expedite it. If it's got things you don't agree with then you need to negotiate it out, whether it's you two or through lawyers.

yeah that's not it. there's more process to it than that, altho, if you are the one being served, there is less to do on your end--as long as you agree to everything the papers say. if not, you'll have to go to court or get a lawyer.

This will tell you everything to expect and no it isn't the end until the judge grants you and tells you it is the end.
