x + 21 = 30, x = 9

Was that 1st equation

(3x + 2)/2 = 7
3x + 2 = 14
3x = 16
x = 16/3 = 5 1/3

or was it

(3x+2)/2 = 7i
3x + 2 = 14i
3x = -2 + 14i
x = -2/3 + (14/3)i

but more by custom, complex variables are z, not x.

(3x + 2) / 2 = 7
Multiply by 2:
3x + 2 = 14
Subtract 2 from each side:
3x = 12
Divide by 3:
x = 4.

Let the number be x.
Then:
x + 21 = 30
Subtract 21 from each side:
x = 9.

(3x + 2) /2 = 7
3x + 2 = 2 * 7
3x = 14 - 2
3x = 12
x = 4

suppose the no. is x
x + 21 = 30
x = 30 - 21
x = 9
