When I run the fan in my car without the AC turned on, I get this scent that smells like vinegar and smelly feet. I understand that this may be due to mold in the system. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of this odor?

There's a product that you spray into the air ducts that neutralizes mildew and mold in your ducts. You just spray it in the outside air intake at the bottom of your windshield. They are usually below your wipers, you may have to pop the hood to see them. You turn your A/C on high and spray it down the intake vents for about 5 sec. and a 5 sec. shot into the vents in the dash too. Any auto parts store should carry it.

Yes, it's mold buildup on the a/c evaporator---try calling some a/c repair shops or dealers in your area for a product or procedure to remove the mold..some cars are easier to do than others. Make sure the a/c drain in the ductwork behind the dash is not plugged---you should see water coming out under the car when a/c is on and humid conditions. Do a search on Yahoo Answers---been covered many times.

Condensation has built up and caused a bit of mildew most likley. A dealer or shop can sell you a $90 service to clean this pretty good. Or, turn your air to outside air, on full for a secound and spray lisol (sp?) in the duct below your wipers. Then turn it down to med low and continue spraying.
Make sure the mode is set to floor only!!!!!! You dont want to clean that off of your windshield.
