A philosopher is always BS-ing. It is only on Fridays and Saturdays at the local coffee bar that he gets to do it as a pro.
I went to NYU (in the 80's) and I know about it. They never stop BS-ing.

same things everyone else does whenthey aren't working... philosopher's don't just sit around & "think" all day & ponder the universe... no more than a construction worker does his/her work all day or night.
