I want to buy a new graphics card for my Dell 4600. I know nothing about these and would like some help finding the right one. I would like to be able to play newer games, and my current card wont do the job. I have about 250 dollars to spend, is that enough, and can I get a decent enough one for that?

You may have to spend some more for a power supply upgrade. This card draws a little over 50 watts and mostly on the +12V rail.

If you're gonna spend $250 on a card you might as well get an 8800GTS 320MB. Otherwise the best bang for your buck would be a Sapphire Radeon X1950XT 256MB for $179 plus $30 Rebate at Newegg. The most important thing however is that you want to make sure your power supply will handle whatever card that you get. Do a lot of research on the card you want, because if you need to upgrade the power supply then that's gonna eat a good chunk out of your $250 budget.
