Must I get an International Drivers permit?, and can I get it in the U.K for Lithuania?

It is always better to have an international drivers license, even if it is not obligatory, as not all officials speak and read English with ease.
Normally you get it at home, but if you live in the UK now, contact one of the automobile clubs.
(They should also know if you need it in Lithuania.)
I have heard it is a lovely country, so you will enjoy it there.
