Most other cichlids will be OK. Plecos (Plecostomous? sorry if I spelled that wrong) can handle anything--but they get huge.
Believe it or not, I had an upside-down catfish in my cichlid tank for over 5 years.
You can also buy a half dozen or so "school fish" if they aren't too small. You might lose a couple (and you'll need to replenish those), but the cichlid will get used to them.
My 75 gal. tank has 2 cichlids, a couple hatchet fish, a plecko, an angelfish, and about 8 platys (that tend to dissappear from time to time--haha).

Oscars go well with them but i would not suggest getting more than two because they get pretty big also other cichilids would be okay particularly the bigger species beacuse the parrot cichilid is agresive and would most likley fight and kill smaller fish also most catfish can survive so those could be your bottom feeders, enjoy your fish!

a three-gallon tank is plenty too small to homestead a blood parrot cichlid for a sort of days. including consumer-friendly stability won't harm your fish, notwithstanding it fairly is amazingly not at risk of earnings the fish, the two.

One similar sized cichlid with about the same attitude could go in your tank. A Firemouth or a Jack Dempsey might make good choices as long as they are similar in size.
