I have discovered in life, it is better to tell a person how their actions make me feel, than having regrets later, That is the difference between being assertive and aggressive. An assertive person is able to tell others how they feel, without making threats or accusatory statements.

Most definitely.
I wanted to speak to my father. I wanted to tell him he had been a lousy father & had let me down. I wanted to tell him he had ruined my childhood & had a massive impact on my adult life. I wanted to tell him he had distorted just about every relationship I had tried to have with a man because of what he had done.
And I also wanted to tell him that I had an open heart & was willing to forgive.
But I never got to say it because he killed himself.
His loss.

Yes. I did not tell my ex to pack his bags and get out of my life in 1997, when I knew it was over.
He nearly killed me in 2003.

Yes, several times.
But it was worth it, sometimes we sacrifice for the sake of others.
