The solution is to teach your kids right from wrong. If they do something they aren't supposed to do punish them...and that doesn't mean "timeout" ..it means something that will get their attention and have a lasting impression. If teenagers had been taught values then these losses would not be occurring. But of course it is easier to blame someone else or something else (in this case corporations) for the failings of the parents.

Dear Concerned Mother of Three in the Windy City:
The American corporations are the blame for all the guns in Chicago. They all got together and decided it was a good place to start in a multiple city project called get the guns to the teenagers. Because if teenagers kill each other it will increase their overall footprint in the American conscience and they will have much less marketing to do, to sell their guns.
I think it's a flawed plan, but you know how those stupid corporations won't listen to the common man.
Good luck,,, buy a flak jacket for each kid, and remember, keep your powder dry and your head down.
Signed: One Concerned Citizen from across the Lake

Check the local library. They have law books that spell out what you need to know. Corporations aren't behind this, but criminal behavior is. All it takes is a gun smuggler to bring guns into a city with the most sever gun control in the country, there is no law that is going to stop that.

People kill people, not guns. Guns are just another tool people use. Guns are not evil disgusting things when people are EDUCATED about how to properly use them.
Gun regulations vary by state.
And just taking away weapons won't do a single thing. People will still get them, then people won't be able to protect themselves because ignorant people like yourself will have taken all the legally purchased guns away from people who know what they are doing with them.
And to add a little more...
A huge amount of people die every year from car accidents, and I'm more afraid of an idiot behind the wheel of a car than of getting shot. Look at the stats. More people die per year from cars than from guns. Should we take them away too?

Um....I hate to sound generic but : guns don't kill people, people kill people.
Let's find out what the route of these violent crimes are - poverty, drugs, desensitization towards violence and death, lack of parental involvement and responsibility, lack of education....
You can't put a bandage on a gaping wound that requires stitches and expect for it to heal properly. You have to look past the incident, and find the cause of it.

Before we start another gun-grabber" section and discussion, just remember one thing if you are worried about your children, keep them off and away from streets and alleys, as more people are killed and injured every day from automobnles than guns.
