I definately prefer manual over automatic. Auto is soooooo boring. When your driving a manual transmission car you have sooo much more control over your car, rather it be how fast you go, how you turn, how you brake, and a lot of other stuff. Even though a manual tranny can sometimes be a ***** in traffic it still gives you somethin to do. See thats why auto is so boring, you need somethin to do while your driving besides just pressing the gas pedal. I love the feeling when you push in the clutch on my roadrunner and it has that extra oomf and revs up and then you shift up and it jerks a little (not because it has tranny problems) but because it has freakin 783 hp. I LOVE IT!!!!!

O and im from Kentucky.

I would much rather drive a manual car as opposed to an automatic. One because i like driving sports cars, but you also have better control over the vehical, and you can save more on gas as well. Im originally from NY, but i currently reside in Texas.

If you like to DRIVE then manual is the better choice. If you're just trying to get from here to there then obviously hassle free automatic is the way to go. I prefer manual, it gives you more control of your car. I'm from eastern PA, lots of hills and curves.

I live on LI, NY and drive a manual, yeah it can be fun but it can be a real pain. I plan on getting an auto until I can afford to own 2 cars.

I've had both manual cars and automatic cars.

My Corvette was manual 6 speed. My SUV is automatic. One car is for fun the other is a work car.

I've been driving for over 30 years. I used to prefer manual transmissions, but I'll probably never buy another one. They are no fun in heavy commuter traffic. Everything I own now is automatic, except for my motorcycle.

manual. I like the acceleration from changing gears even though 6 speed manuals require a lot of shifting.

I drive both because one of my cars is auto and the other stick, I prefer driving stick but I live in an area where there is lots of traffic, Houston, so sometimes driving the auto is much easier

I was required by my dad to be able to drive MANUEL before I could get my drivers license!!! So yes, I can drive manual. I was also required (by my dad) to be able to change my car's oil, name and identify under the hood all my cars fluids (i.e. power steering fluid), and change my tires. FYI: I graduated high school in 2000, this wasn't that long ago!

Until I injured my knee I preferred to drive MANUEL/stick. Now due to multiple knee injuries I prefer automatic. Manuel cars aggravate my knee pain, especially in stop 'n go traffic which occurs frequently in my area.

I am from Cincinnati, Ohio but currently live in Maryland next to Washington DC.
