Defining your eyes with eyeliner (liquid or eye pencil) will immediately enhance your look and draw attention to the beauty of your eyes. Liner, even when worn alone, makes a statement. It is the perfect quick-fix when you need to shift the accent from your lips to your eyes, or transition from a day to evening look.

Use eyeliner to bring the eyes forward, to change their shape, or to create a certain mood. A razor-sharp matte line or smoky kohl contour can change the entire look of your face, from classy and powerful to sultry and sexy.
COLOR:
Light beige or white eye pencil applied to your inner rims looks way too obvious in daylight, and requires a lot of maintenance. A better idea is to use light iridescent pencils for highlighting the corners of your eyes.

Bright baby blue, green, aqua, violet, or bronze are great when you need a bright colour on your eyes to be quickly and precisely applied in a line. Choose colours corresponding to your attire. Pencils with shimmer or glitter will add a subtle shine to your eyes—very sexy.

Dark coloured eye pencils or liquid eyeliners such as navy blue, brown, indigo, or deep green will softly define your eyes and are a good alternative to black for a natural look. Match the hue of your liner with the colour of your iris, but use it in dark saturation.

As for black eye pencil or liquid eyeliner, it is an all-time classic for casual, office, and evening makeup.
TECHNIQUES:
Stretch the skin around the eye area by looking half-way down and raising the eyebrows at the same time. Apply a stroke from the point where your line will end to the outer corner of your eye.
Eyeliner application Widen and lengthen the line by applying more liner on top of your first stroke towards the centre of the eye.
Eyeliner application Finish with a stroke from the inner corner to the centre of the eye. Smooth out the point where the strokes connect, but try not to widen your line at the junction. If you make a mistake, wait until the liner is dry than wipe it off with a dry cotton swab, reapplying eyeshadow if necessary.
Eyeliner application Don’t apply liquid liner on the inner rims because it can get inside the eyes. Substitute liquid liner with a pencil of the same colour. Don’t bring the upper and lower lines together since this will diminish the apparent size of the eye. For a more dramatic effect, apply on both upper and lower inner rims, but be aware that dark eyeliner on the inner rims is not at all flattering for small eyes.

Dark hard eye pencil can serve the same purpose as a liquid liner if used without powder eyeshadow. It draws a clean, precise, matte line, emphasising and enlarging the eyes, and is easier to apply. For a line that does not smudge, choose powdery pencil that is just soft enough to glide on your skin without snagging it. Apply in the same manner as liquid eyeliner.

Softer eye pencils contain waxes that ease application. They are good for smudging and come in a variety of colours.
Eyeliner application The quickest way to apply bright smudgy eyeliner is to use it instead of eyeshadow, applied in a thick line all around the eye. However, on oily skins, mature eyelids, or if used together with creamy eyeshadow on the mobile lid, soft eyeliner can dissolve into a mess soon after application.
Eyeliner application The best way to apply darker eyeliner is to use it together with eyeshadow of a similar colour. Apply eyeliner on bare eyelids, smoke up the line and set with eyeshadow by blending two products together with a small liner brush. Repeat liner application in a thinner line for more dramatic effect.
Eyeliner application For a beautiful cat-eyes effect, draw a thick straight line along the lower lashes first, then draw a thinner line along your upper eyelashes. Bring the upper and lower lines together at the level of the lower line.

if your in a good mood here are some ideas. (eyeshadow) dust a light pearlized powder along your browbones and at the inner corners of your eyes.this will make the eyeliner just POP! (top line) with blue eyeliner, trace a medium-thick line along your top lashes.Follow the natural shape of your eye. Make sure the line is RIGHT at your lashes. (Bottom Line) With purple eye linner, draw a thinner line all the way along your bottom lashes until it meets the top line.Fix any smudges with a Q-tip dipped in makeup remover.

(if you dont have those colors do the same thing with these)

lime and white, purple and silver, emerald and navy, and sky blue and brown.

Navy eyeliner can really be a different approach to plain old black. It looks especially good with brown eyes. I use a Mary Kay brand that goes on really smooth.

My way is jet black eyeliner(waterproof) over the top lid, then go to the bottom and trace over it...basically go around the whole eye and darken it if you want to!
