Well, of course, it depends on the breeds of both the dog and the horse. I'm assuming average size for both. I'd put my money on the horse in most cases. My quarter horse used to out swim my labrador retriever 9 times out of 10.

Just my 2 cents.

Horses are very powerful swimmers. And have been known to exceed speeds of 30mph while swimming. Umbra, a world record-holding dog, can swim 4 miles in 73 minutes, placing her in the top 25% in human long-distance swimming competitions.

So, I'd say... horse? :)

You should sign up, even if your not fast enough to be competitive, the atmosphere of a swim team is great, and it's a great way to stay in shape. Plus, joining the team will only make you better. Only about half of my high school team is very good, tons of people join swim teams who really cant swim at all, so even if you are that bad, you'll do fine. GOOD LUCK

if i had to guess i would neither.

the dog is smaller than the horse so has to swim faster to keep up with it, but the horse is bigger so needs less strokes so lookes slower

so i say it would prob be a tie

I would say a dog because a dog's body is kind built for swimming, and a horse's body is kind of built for horseback riding.

i think a horse will

think about it you cant say because of its size it cant swim, elephants can bloody swim and polar bears.

horses hooves have a larger surface area than those of a dog.

horses are suprizingly agile, strong and fast animals, besides you could always get a miniture pony to make it more even!!
