has anyone else had any luck with natural induction at 37 weeks or more?

i know that many of you feel that you should wait. and i am aware of the fact that i cant make myself go into labor if my body and baby says no, but i would definetly like any advice as to how i can move it along

thanks

Walking is definitely one of the best things you can do. You can also take Red Raspberry Leaf tablets daily to help strengthen and tone the uterus for labor. It will also encourage you to have more Braxton-Hicks contractions which in turn dilate and efface the cervix.

Castor oil is an old-fashioned remedy, but you would need to ask your doctor or midwife how much to take. For most women it does NOT work (especially if they are only 36-37 weeks along) and ends up giving them diarrhea, nausea and stomach cramps.

Other methods are breast stimulation to produce the hormone oxytocin (by hand or with a pump) and intercourse.

You're in the home stretch and it won't be long now. I know how hard it is at the end. Maybe your baby will be born at 37 or 38 weeks and you won't have to wait the full 40!

All the best to you and baby.

For starters the back pain is common if your close to time. Back labor is not uncommon and is vary painfull. However I will give you a sugestion that your doc would give you too. Have sex, usually if you have a good deal of sex before your due it will sometimes cause you to go into labor. However most hospitals will send you home until your water breaks.

I used an electric double breast pump for about 30 minutes and within an hour I was having strong, regular contractions.

If your back is hurting that bad, sounds to me like you may be in the early stages of labour. I didn't have labour pains I had a horrific backache. Good luck to you and the new baby. Best Wishes to all of you!!!!!!!!!!

Sex is the safest, most natural way to induce labor. There is something in the sperm that gets it going. Sex it up!
