If the 3 pence is a silver type, then a 1941-dated is valued in world coins catalog at $0.50 to $1 in average circulated condition. It was struck from 1937 to 1945 in 0.500 silver fineness and is a common date of the silver series. Another type of the 3 pence that circulated alongside the silver type is dodecagon-shaped made of nickel-brass or a composition of 79% copper, 20% zinc and 1% nickel to be exact. This type was produced from 1937 to 1952, except in 1947. It has a value of about $0.25 to $0.40 in average circulated grade. When the new nickel-brass 3 pence coins were introduced, the silver type continued to be minted to ascertain how well the new type would be accepted by the public. It remained unpopular in England until production ceased in 1945 where most of this date's issues were melted, but was still well accepted in Scotland.

Three Pence Value

If it is a British brass 3 Pence it had a mintage of 60,239,489 which is quite high. It is worth .10 to .50 cents depending on grade a little more if in mint state. Not a rare coin but a coin from World War II at a time, when Britain was alone in its fight. It does have more historical value than the money type. Worth holding on too.

Your coin is made of nickel-brass and is relatively common. It has a high mintage so there is no shortage of them for collectors. You don't see these coins since the UK went to decimal coinage but that doesn't make them rare. Unless it has no wear, it doesn't have much value but it will probably go up in the future only because it is obsolete.
