Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. We need all of that info to give an informed answer.
Not everyone will know what a zx 9 r c2 is and they might have a solution if they did.
Kawasakis have intermittent problems with the coils when they get warm.
Everything with the ignition system should be checked.
Ignition coils, pick-up coils (pulse generator), spark plug caps, etc.
Check that all the exhaust pipes are the same temperature, to find out which cylinder is giving the problem.

You haven't said when it was last serviced or how many miles it has done. The c2 is a 1999 bike so if it hasn't had regular servicing then it may well be time to do the basics.change the spark plugs as these can become erratic or fail when hot,clean/change the fuel filter and set up and balance the carbs you wouldn't believe the difference that can make.sorry but without more info thats the best place to start.I had one of these for 5 years and think they are great bikes now iv'e got a zx10r kawasaki superb!

like stated above check the coils. just take one plugwire off the plug. touch it to the pug to hear if it pops. if it ticks or pops then its good. check all four of them. if thats ok check the carbs. i believe they stopped making the 9r in 03 so i would beileve they are carbs. also check out kawiforums.com. there is a advanced kawasaki forums. they are a dealership for cali.
