the southern parts of those countries. Don't ask me why, maybe it's the heat. But those folks seem to be less metropolitan, and less accepting of outsiders. They also think folks from other of the listed countries are beneath them.

"Redneckest"? Must be an American term but 'm guessing you mean 'most down to earth local" in the case of Germany I would say Bavaria. It's a great place and very rural
