A chip swap (E36) or ECU reprogramming (E46) can slight performance boost. When done in conjunction to a cold air intake system, you may get slightly better results.

There are always other ways you can push more power from the car... but it will involve spending enough money for you to sell this car and buy another used BMW with a more powerful engine.

no point. just buy a 318ti or go better with 323ti (almost 200 bhp). By the time you get the power up in a 316ti you could have bought a 323ti and spens a little extra on it to get it to 200 bhp.

besides people see that you got an upgraded BMW and they wanna race you. In a 316ti you will get pissed on every time and made to look like a jerk off. So just sell it save up and buy at least the 318ti.

any way you can get a roots-type supercharger. Give you a massive power boost costs $4000.

Yes, plenty.

First off you could swap the engine... just a though, I have seen 318's swapped with M3 motors and rebadged as a 330ti or 332ti depending on which motor is in it. Badging it that way lets BMW enthusiasts know what's under the hood... don't badge it an M3.

There is also cold air intake, exhaust, headers, cams, injectors, software, ignition... tons... here are some sites for you to check out......

dude there is no point, just sell it and buy a car with a bigger engine, it will be much cheaper and the rewards will be greater............. If you go down the other route you could end up looking like you've ''gyped'' or ''barryed'' up your car and people will just point and laugh at you!....Then when you come to sell your car no one will want it

good luck
