Convert the mixed number to a improper fraction

1/2x = 3 5/6

Multiply 3 times 6 and add 5 = 23/6

1/2x = 23/6

Multiply both sides of the equation by 6

6(1/2x) = 6(23/6)

3x = 23

Divide both sides of the equation by 3

3x / 3 = 23 / 3

x = 23 / 3

x = 7 2/3
