Why can't we sell our organs? I've heard reasons like, "Because we aren't animals," which is a big old NONanswer if I ever heard one.
Why shouldn't we be able to sell a kidney? People sell their sperm, their eggs, sometimes their children. Are our organs really that much more precious?

Yeah, uh, you only need one to live. Why can't you sell ONE?

In addition to the moral issues people have with this, there are bigger "real" concerns. Setting the value of the part to be sold/purchased for one. That should be easily settled by the buyer/seller. Other considerations are the transparency of the transaction (is the "seller" being coerced into selling or not), the safety of BOTH patients.
Creating a "market" for body parts would not be easy to set up and regulate, and when all is said and done, it would really only benefit wealthy individuals because I think it highly unrealistic the insurance companies would cover the costs associated with a market transaction in body parts. If that is the case, wealthy people have a better chance of "buying" a body part now anyway.

Well, tou actally need them when you're alive.
If you die, I don't see the reason why you need to sell them in the first place.
