Does sound like you are taking a lot on but.
...look at it this way, 15 an hour for guitar tutition is good and definately fair, someone who flips burgers at mcD's gets about 6 an hour so the tutor def deserves more than that...
plus you prolly wouldnt wanna do more than an hour a week so you could use what you have learnt in that hour to practice on your own until next week's lesson.
Same for the Tennis thing, although i would think the guitar tutor should get more than the tennis tutor (prolly somthing to do with the fact that more high society people like tennis so will pay more... they ruined it for the average folk! lol)
Either way, Sounds good to me buddy! Chicks love a bloke who can play guitar and self defence is one of the best things anyone can learn to do, but it gets hard... just stick with it!

Hi hun!
It sounds about right for both of them. Although the one thing I'd say is that you can teach yourself the basics of guitar quite easily! I had 2 guitar tutors when I was first learning. The first one was way too advanced and went way too fast for me; but the second one just wasted my time! He spent 4 weeks teaching me how to play Sheryl Crow and My Girl.... if I hadn't taught myself the rest, I wouldn't know how to play anything else! ;-)
Before you take the plunge for guitar lessons, try buying a DVD or book about the guitar. Also look online for some tab(guitar music). You don't need to know how to read sheet music to play guitar - it's actually written out as you play it. Have a look in a music shop which sells books of guitar tab for various albums, and you'll see what I mean. Most books actually have a section explaining how to play it! I started learning when I was 13, so at 16 you can definitely understand it :-) I'd only pay for a tutor once I'd looked at it a bit myself. That way, if there's anything you don't understand, you'll know that you could use a tutor - and if you understand the basics, you can put the tutor off for a while!
xx Emmie
p.s. get prepared for some blistered fingertips! ;-)

Both prices sound reasonable but if you want to save some money teach yourself the guitar. Just by music books that show you where to put your fingers to make the chords. Good luck. Have fun. :)

Hi!
Yep, £15 is the going rate for private guitar tuition, I pay £17 per hour for one of my sons.
£18 an hour is very reasonable for private tennis tuition - I've paid £25 per hour in the past!
Hope this helps!
Best of luck with everything!

For guitar it sounds good if it's private tuition as opposed to classes...I teach it so I'm in touch with fees...tennis I can't say

that is far too much for the guitar, i get four 1hour sessions for thirty pound, i found that most places have that price, for almost all instruments.
FIND SOMEONE ELSE.
