I have a t-shirt that says "good grammar costs nothing". When I'm talking to people, I swear it's an automated function of my brain to correct their grammar. I have no control over it.
But generally, it's a losing battle to try to correct grammar online. And you're right-- unless someone has a useful answer, it's very rude to just post grammatical corrections.
Spelling on the other hand annoys the hell out of me. I don't go out of my way to correct it generally, but a cursory typo check--an extra two seconds before posting-- would be nice.

I suppose they are trying to be helpful but it does come across as conceited, so I understand and agree with what you are saying. Grammar and spelling is really beside the point when you are asking a question. As long as the question is understood, which yours is even with the intentional poor grammar and spelling, people should just answer it.

Peace.

I used to be a grammar nazi until I saw how some of the most intelligent speakers I know in real life are horrible with spelling and grammar. As far as how to deal with it, either stop caring about it, or take an english class/read more literature.

No!

There is no reason for poor spelling bearing in mind that Yahoo provides a spell check!

If people can't be bothered to ask a question correctly, why should they expect a correct answer?

Have you asked for an English lesson yet? You sure need one!

I have two points of view on this... I'm anal about spelling and grammar, have been since I can remember. So when I see mistakes, it makes me cringe and itch to fix them. On the other hand, no one deserves to be insulted if there are mistakes made. Yahoo! does make it easier by implementing a spell check in their forum. Try that and ignore anyone who insults you.

No. lots of the folk in this section are racist, or make questions that are stupid(trolls) So in the event that they are so clever why won't have the ability to they spell. Paris Hilton why won't have the ability to they only hit the edit button, or use the spell examine?

aperson is two words not one
grammer is spelled grammar
cos isn't a word but a mathematical abbreviation for cosine

Actually I think you should be happy that people care enough about you to help you become a better written communicator.

Have a great day!

If you're in the dog category, don't say anything insulting about dogs; if you're in the math section, don't ask "what is 2 + 2". When you are in the word section, it needs to make sense. People in this category value the English language and shudder when it is abused.

Depends on the question. I think I've only asked one question which some people answered that way, and they were completely wrong and I told them as much. (Ironically there were other grammatical problems with my question that they didn't comment on. I had a different user name at the time.)

I am really, really sorry to have to point out that grammar is spelled with an "a".
