We have people in this country who can't afford health care, our health systems are over burdened and our taxes are sky- rocketing for Medicaid. Now we have a guy who has been sentenced to life wanting the taxpayers to pay for his sex change operation!! I am open minded to many things, but this is crazy as far as I am concerned!

I think that optional operations, such as gender changes and unnecessary plastic surgeries, should be last on the priority list. Other people are dying out there who NEED their health care paid for, while we have a bunch of rich people getting face lifts and sex changes just because they WANT to. It would be like someone getting braces on their teeth just because they like the way they look, but expecting taxes and insurance to cover most of the cost. If you're going to get health care just to make yourself look or be "cool", use your own time and money. Having taxes pay for your sex change is the same as having an operation the rest of the world pays for. Um, can you say selfish?!

Unbelievable.... so he tried to commit suicide twice because he can't have a sex change.. You know what then..... let him kill himself. That's one less coldblooded murderer taxpayers will be paying for.

I am one of the millions of people paying an unbelievable amount for health insurance and I can't even afford to get treated when I get sick usually because everything is so expensive even with the insurance and he wants a sex change paid for by everybody else??

No one should have their health care paid for by someone else. People have their own families to care for. If you don't make enough money to pay for your own health care, then find a way to make more! This is the land of opportunity, dammit! Get off your rears and pay for yourselves! ONLY people who are physically unable to work should have their health care paid for by others!

I'm usually tactful, but such an idea is pure, unadulterated garbage. First, I feel that way toward these operations no matter what the circumstances. As a Christian, I cringe at the idea that an individual can change their sex on a whim or because of impulse.

These individuals are confused and need guidance. The Lord created all of us the way we are for a reason. Changing sex is a way of in effect saying to the Lord, "Hey, guess what God. I think you got it wrong." The Lord makes no mistakes; how it must grieve his heart to witness such sodomy.

Too, there are children living in filthy conditions out of cardboard boxes, people starving and living in property, people suffering from illnesses such as cancer, etc... And yet this selfish, blinded man wants to rip the last bit of his conscious away by irrevocanbly amending his gender. Disguisting.

The scripture plainly speaks out against such practices and forewarns against loving the creation more than the Creator.

I'm a girl and glad I was born that way. I can never conceive something so horrible. Don't misunderstand me I know there are rare instances of intersex individuals who were born that way. There are somethings while on this Earth I shall never understand, and it may not be my right to ask, but even as a Christian I wonder... why God allows these things.

The one thing I can say clearly is that I believe he allows any number of circumstances in our lives to test and refine us. Maybe in this case is the lesson is the soul is more important than the physical body. Before someone can twist this, I don't think that means people should be allowed to have sex changes, especially if they are not intersex. If that be the case, I think a genetic test can determine what chromosome is most prevalent and probably give these families a hint as to what gender the child should adopt. For these individuals, I feel sympathy and shall pray. I'm glad such heartache has never befallen my family. And I can do so because these individuals have no control over how they were born and are not unsure about gender for selfish reasons.

Other than the above scenario nothing will ever convince me this is right. In fact, I feel doctor's who perform those operations should have their licenses revoked. Undoubtedly, people will claim I'm cruel and say my answer be too simplistic; yet, I truly believe two things could solve this "confusion" they suffer from:

1. Someone to witness to them about Christ, instruct them in the Bible, pray for them, etc...

AND

2. Their hormone levels should be tested to see if the balance of estrogen or testostorone is too low or high. I'm no doctor, but I'm willing to bet this creates a lot of these feelings.

I think is one of the most selfish acts of which I've ever known.

The fact he's in prison makes it that much worse. I feel a righteous indignation for cancer patients refused treatment because they can't afford insurance, families refused housing because they don't meet the guidelines, etc... but not for this completely errroneous, hateful act.

May God have mercy on these poor souls. And I pray that He shall on me as well if I be too judgmental, but I feel in my heart he has led me to share this view and tell others: "Somethings are just not ours to tamper with."

A lovely country song by Clay Walker wonders about the disorder in our world because we often chase our own desires and mirrors a lot of those questions we all have: "These are Just a Few Questions I Have."

Wanted to include the detail above because it is such a thought provoking song with which most everyone can identify, and will if they open their hearts, cause them to spend some time in real prayer with the Lord.

To end, this act goes way beyond crazy, it's pure evil.

I would say that's an extremely selfish guy.
If Medicaid or whoever gives in to his selfish demands, they should lose their job !!!

i agree.. that is crazy... yes they should receive health care.. not that most of them deserve it.. but they should receive it regardless... it is inhumane to not to give it to them..but that is stupid to give some one a sex change .. if they are going to do that, then medicare and Medicaid and other insurances should have to pay for that also

I'm with Chumley.

As screwed up as this country is, we need to pay for our own healthcare.
