Depends on the quantity. Some people (like the British) don't drink very much alcohol, and generally can use it to "unwind". Large quantities of alcohol can cause depression. In case you are wondering, the British beer has a LOT less alcohol to other liquid ratio.

I have had family member that drank and became alcoholics and believe me they weren't relaxed. My dad would become mean and vicious. They are certainly not relaxed, unless they pass out. I have seen a lot of it.

their body is filled with tar and is literally not relaxed because of the extra work it has to do for pumping blood. there is strain on the heart, the brain and all the body parts get damaged. the reflexes slow down and the thinking. your body and your mind and concentration is definitely not relaxed!

People who drink are usually more unstable and therefore definitly less relaxed. One or two drinks can relax a normal person but after that you easily get more upset and if your personality is weak it has even more devestating effects.
