I use to have an excelant memery. But after my pregnancy I feel like I've forgot so many things. I just don't feel the same anymore. I even feel like my eye sight isn't the same. Do any women feel this way? Or did you feel this way after your pregnancy?

Welcome to motherhood :)

It's completely normal to feel like you have lost your mind while pregnant and even after having your baby... You mind has been 24-7 thinking about this baby that you had in your belly and now that baby is actually outside and you have to take care of it as well!

You're probably going on little to no sleep, which frankly wont get better till the baby is sleeping through the night and you're a mom! You have to remember if you gave the baby a bath like you were supposed to, should i wash the clothes today or will we run out.. Did i sterilize these bottles already?

So many questions run through your mind that you find yourself forgetting the "less important stuff" (or least less important till you misplace your pocketbook)

Dont worry, eventually you will settle into a routine and you'll start to feel less frazzled.. When you feel like you are ready for it, I definently recommend giving the baby over to grandma for the night and getting out and being you again, whether you go out with your significant other or you just go watch a movie, do something that gets you away from the baby for at least 3 hours so you can recharge a bit.. heck you can even go home and catch up on sleep then!

Good luck!

I have heard that it happens to a lot of moms. I know I feel like my brain is fried sometimes and its been over 10 yrs since I had my baby, so I'm still waiting for my memory to come back, lol. Just take care of yourself and get as much rest as possible!

As for the 14 yr old answerer who is pregnant, her own brain and body is even done growing yet!

Yes, its called exaustion. Give yourself a break. You are just as smart as you ever were, even more so now. Its the hormones that are still off balance, and the MAJOR lack of sleep. Not to mention, its overwhelming at times. It can make you crazy. Just know that you are still in there, you just need to get some sleep.

It took me a good 8 months to a year to stop feeling so "brain dead". Now I am pregnant with my second and feeling it already. All Iyou can do is get rest, and hope your brain keeps up.

That is normal.

There are so many changes going on in your life and your body, it makes sense.

There is the HUGE adjustmentment to this new person in your life who is completely dependent on you--and has changed your life forever.

Your homones have been changing [first pregnancy, now after]

Lack of sleep definitely has an effect on memory--being tired + not dreaming enuf.

And the brain is working overtime, adjusting to so many new things. That is where much of your energy is going, there isn't enuf left over to remember things.

You will adjust.

All the things that the baby took have to come back to normal that is a lot of work for the body so it focuses on that alone to heal. You will be fine. You need to get plenty of rest. Ask someone to help out with the baby that you are comfortable with.

I easily have a constructive living house good husband and money something i want yet no longer chuffed. docs say i'm unhappy with some thing magor in my existence. i think of this is because of the fact I easily have by no potential been chuffed in my marriage.

lol yeah i used to be so completely organized and on top of everything. i still try so hard to stay organized but somehow stuff will end up missing. then there is the constant mess of toys all over the place that seem to just explode the minute after i pick them all up.
keep a purse size calendar to write down all the important dates and a nice size notebook to write down things that need to be done and bought. this has helped me stay on top of things! but for the car keys...maybe i'll try glueing them to my hand or something.

Yes, this is totally normal. I thought there was something wrong with me too until I talk to my mother. She said it is b/c we have some much responsibility now that sometimes things gets all mixed up inside. As mothers we have to learn how to prioritize our responsibilities while we try not to worry about everything. Like I said before it is normal and eventually you'll learn how to deal with everything that motherhood throws at you. Good Luck!
