how late is too late to go to college?

i always hear your never too late to go to school but i just want to know what you guys think.

im 24 i know im still young and i would attend community college and then further my education elsewhere.

all i know is im starting to really hate my good paying job and all im left with is a good paycheck and frustration mixed with some stress.

Its never to late to go to college my mother is 37 and she got a 2nd degree in teaching 2 years ago.

never too late. I was in school recently with a guy who was over 60. He was just going for FUN. I'm 45 and completed a business degree last year. It's about being ready for it mentally that makes the difference. I went to college right out of highschool, and got absolutely nothing from the experience (except a penchant for cheap beer, which I thankfully outgrew).

You are probably at a good age to reconsider. At 24, if you have no commitments (like a marriage), you probably have the freedom to explore things thoroughly. You will know a LOT more about what you want to do, and likely have more motivation. My motivation in my first go at college was pretty low, until I got fully enrolled in the "Partying" part. My experience as an adult was TOTALLY different. I was really driven to learn as much as I could.

A good paycheck is nice, but doing something you like is nicer. I wish I had gone that route. You are postioned really well to decide what you LIKE, what it would take to do that thing, and then go after it. Even if you don't go back now, it's not the end of the world. You can find a different kind of employment, or you can start your own business...lots of options for you. Good luck.

I know of someone who graduated from college when they were 95. It is never too late to go to college. In your case, I highly recommend that you begin with community college and take general education requirements. When you have an idea what major you want, begin looking for a school which has that major. I teach at a community college and many of our students begin college in their mid twenties. Most of these students are more successful than they would have been right out of college. (a job you hate can work wonders for your motivation.)

It's never to late to go to college and extend your education. In my 2005 graduating class, an 87 year old man (the oldest to receive a bachelors degree at the university) finished up school. You are still young - so follow your heart and do what makes you happy.

it is never late. My best friend left the college after 7 years of study. He decided that he didn't want to be a civil engineer. Than he applied to another college at the same age with you. And he was excepted. Now he is working hard to become an industrial designer. And he already succeeded in a toy design competition.

I promised myself that I would be a life long learner. I'm 48 now. About 15 years ago I volunteered to read books to the blind. I loved the reading and learning that went along with the altruism. About 5 years ago I fell into tutoring and it blossomed into a small business.

People that love learning never grow stale and old inside. And you never know what you'll discover if you apply yourself to new things. There's lots of miserable people that work in a vocation for the money, but happy people that work because of an avocation, and adjust their lives accordingly.

Never too old! And you are still quite young!

I'm going back to school myself- I'm 24- just didn't like my former course of study and career, even though it was well paying. So i traded it in for a nanny job and evening school. I find it rewarding and relaxed, and I'm glad to be finally studying to be what I want- an art teacher not an engineer!

Today's students are more diverse in age than they used to be. You may find there are many your age and older in your class. My mother recently went back to school and was surprised by the age diversity.

It's never too late! 24 is especially not too late. If you have a job and go to classes at night you'll find that most people there are older than you. These are people who have jobs but just want to better themselves, just like you.

It's NEVER too late to get an education. I am in my 50's and have gone back a couple of times for a new career change.

when you are dead is too late to go to college... didnt you hear about the 92 year old woman that graduated in may? you are never too old to get a good education!
